[Malifaux] Masters of the Path - Assembled and Undercoated

Recently, the only models I have assembled have been metals, and I have to say it was a real pleasure to switch back to working with plastics! I just find plastics a lot easier to work with - easier to trim and glue together.
I have to say that I'm really impressed with the new Malifaux plastic sets and that the Wyrd Games team has really brought their models to the next level with this new line. The detail is fantastic and the sprues are very well done.
Oh, this is my first time using resin bases for my models (previously I had always made my own basing for models), mostly because we're still in the middle of a move and I have no idea which box in the hallway has my basing supplies. I went with Secret Weapon's Asian Garden bases to go with the Ten Thunders faction, and am pretty happy with these as well.

Next up, it's time to get some paint on these bad boys!

CNC Miniatures Scenery Sci Fi Bridges - Review

While I was ordering up my CNC Miniatures Scenery Sci Fi Walls from Underground Wargames, I thought it would be cool to have some bridges between my Bandua Wargames Q-Buildings.

So I added CNC Miniatures Scenery Sci Fi Bridges to my order to see if I liked them, and I'll tell you now that I'll definitely be ordering another set.

Unboxing

Like the Sci-Fi Walls, the sprue comes in cling-wrap

And here's everything out of the wrap

And then punched out of the 'sprue'

There was a layer of paper backing on this sprue (which wasn't there on my Sci Fi Walls),
which made punching the pieces out of a sprue a real pain

Some of the pieces were damaged when I was punching them out of the sprue,
but nothing major that couldn't be fixed up later

Assembly

No WIP shots - assembly was very quick and straight forward

And with some 28mm miniatures for scale

I was a little worried that the bridges wouldn't fit on my Bandua Q Buildings,
but they fit great

Conclusion

  • At AUD$10 for a large bridge and a small bridge, I think it's a great purchase and adds a great gameplay element to Infinity tables
  • The product has a distinct sci fi look, consistent with the CNC Miniatures Scenery range
  • I'm not sure if the product I received was faulty (it wasn't what I experienced with the Sci Fi Walls set), but nothing that the hobby knife couldn't fix
I'll definitely be grabbing another set (or two!) next time I get around to putting an other through.
