[KoW] Abyssal Dwarf Warband

So that's the infantry and cavalry for my Abyssal Dwarf warband for Kings of War Ambush completed, just the hero models to go!

I'll need to dig up my old Abyssal Dwarf Conclave before continuing this project, which has been stored at my parents place since 2012ish, so I'll put this warband on pause while I revisit my old Kings of War armies and rebuild them for Ambush!

Skorne - Warpack Achievement!

Been a busy weekend, and I used my limited hobby time to acquiring the materials for my planned terrain project - but I did get a chance to snap a group shot of my Skorne Warpack!

It's a fantastic set, and now that they're painted I'm going take some time over the next week to do a practice game with them against one of my Warmachine battlegroups, just to develop an understanding of the Fury mechanism.

Khador - 35 Point Achievement!

And here's the full army shot! So that's 1 warcaster, 2 solos, 4 infantry, 5 large infantry and 3 heavy warjacks. Fairly low model count actually, but with 3 heavy warjacks and the 5 large Man-O-Wars, it still looks fairly formidable.

I plan on running some practice games now that I have two full 35 point armies painted up, and I'll see if I can do some Battle Reports as well.
I plan on taking a week off painting, just to give myself a break before launching into my Hordes armies. I'm still really excited to start though, so maybe I'll just started getting them assembled...

Khador - 15-point Achievement!

With the Widowmakers finished and joining the Battlegroup, it brings my Khador forces to the 15-point Achievement mark!

I really enjoy building Warmachine armies using the incremental point system in the Journeyman League - it breaks up the army building process nicely, in way that doesn't make the whole process seem so daunting :)

So, I'm gonna work on some terrain now - but after that it's straight back into my Khador with the Man-O-War Shocktroopers and War Dog planned for next week!

Khador - Battlegroup Achievement!

With the completion of my second Warmachine Battlegroup, I'm actually finding myself a little burnt out, and my motivation to paint my models is dwindling. 

I've decided that I'm going to start work on the some terrain projects to break things up a little - maybe paint models during the week, and spend weekends experimenting with terrain projects. That seems like a good hobbying balance.

I'm quite happy with how the Battlegroup looks as a whole, and the original doubts I had about the alternate Khador colour scheme are completely gone after seeing them together.

The next increment for my Khador is completing the Widowmakers to bring the force up to 15-points - stay tuned!

Cryx - 35 point Achievement!

Here is my final 35-point Cryx army for our Journeyman League.

Well, technically it's only 33 points - I'm still undecided on what to do about my second Warwitch Siren model. Until I decide, I'll just be proxying my unpainted Eiryss model - so again if anyone has a good suggestion for a Warwitch Siren model proxy (different to the one I already have) let me know :)

Well, I've finished my Cryx army just in time for my wedding anniversary, which means tomorrow I'll be opening my anniversary present - the Warmachine Two Player Battle Set! Then I'll be starting work on my second Warmachine faction - Khador!

Cryx - 25 Point Achievement!

So here's my force at the 25-point achievement mark! The Battlebox plus the max Bane Thrall unit with Officer and Standard bring the army up to an even 25 points.

The last couple of models will bring the force to the final 35-point mark - Bane Lord Tartarus and the Warwitch Siren still need to get paint on them, while the Skarlock was completed as a proxy for a Machine Wraith at 15 points. I also need to paint up another model to proxy as a second Warwitch - stay tuned!

Cryx - 15 point Achievement!

Decided to snap some photos of my 15 point army, to mark the achievement and add the photos to my Cryx army progression page.

Next up, Bane Thralls (1 Leader and 9 Grunts) as well as the Bane Thralls Officer and Standard, to bring my army up to the 25 point level!

Cryx - Battlegroup Achievement!

With the completion of my Cryx Battlegroup, I'm ready for the first week of the local Journeyman League coming up! Still a whole lot more Cryx to go until I finish my planned 35 point army, so I'm going to try and keep my momentum going and get this army done.

I'm really proud of this achievement, and feel that I'm well on the way to actually finishing this army. I'm enjoying painting these models, which is a huge factor in helping me keep my motivation and momentum - and having a Journeyman League to work towards provides fantastic motivation too.
